Kaplan International Colleges’ Study and Work Programs Accredited by Languages Canada
(PRWEB UK) 23 October 2013 -- Kaplan International Colleges has received accreditation for their study and work programs from Languages Canada, the industry association for language schools.
This acknowledgement demonstrates that Kaplan’s Vancouver and Toronto centers provide paid and unpaid work programs in a way that meets industry quality standards.
The industry itself initiated an audit this summer by an external company, Orion Assessment Services, to show consistency in how these programs are delivered at different schools.
The quality standards were designed to ensure programs are promoted correctly, students are monitored and supported at the schools and have a valuable experience.
Another goal was to demonstrate how the industry operates within the boundaries of the C-30 work permit.
Kaplan’s centers in Toronto and Vancouver were among the first to undergo the audit this summer and received accreditation until 2015.
Orion Assessment Services noted that in several areas the schools exceeded the standards (clear marketing materials, detailed orientation and organized monitoring system).
Jon Barrett, school director Kaplan Toronto, said: “Study and work programs are an excellent way for international students to bring their classroom English into practice.
"Whether this is in an office environment, a typical student job in a restaurant or supermarket or as part of a ranch stay, students can really experience Canadian culture, meet new people and be challenged in a different way.”
