Karen Feldman Gives Tips on How to Get a House to Help Sell Itself
Winnetka, IL (PRWEB) April 11, 2015 -- Aside from the commonly known tips, such as keeping the home clean and free of clutter, as well as taking care of any maintenance issues or any upkeep, Karen Feldman says most sellers can benefit from some extra TLC before letting any buyers view their home. As Karen points out, “Buyers want to live in that house and have the lifestyle they imagine that comes with it, so depersonalize your home by taking down personal photos, religious and political items. That way, the buyer can picture themselves in the home without having to compare themselves to the seller.”
Today, interior design is continually changing and updating its standards on what is considered aesthetically pleasing. Most are advocates of neutral colors, but Karen disagrees with going that route. “Neutral tones can quickly become boring, while soothing color palettes are pleasant to the eye and can make white trim pop. Be sure to avoid super dark and outrageous colors that aren’t common in nature. Feng Shui is all the rage right now as well, so research the topic and stick to the main ideas,” Karen says.
With an increase in buyers hitting the market, sellers are having to showcase their homes to more and more people. Just like sellers seeing an increase in foot traffic, buyers get to compare a multitude of homes. When faced with knowing a seller must wow a buyer in order to get them to return, there are certain things that are guaranteed to case a home in a more favorable light, and even increase the home's worth.
Aside from these quick tips, Karen expresses that finding the right broker and Realtor will ultimately be the most important thing. As Karen points out, “You’ll need to hire a broker that is honest with you, one that will be critical of your home’s obstacles to a sale, that way you are less likely to end up sacrificing your final selling price. As for a Realtor, make sure you really like them. If they are doing their job correctly, you’ll be hearing from and seeing them more than you want to, so be sure you like them.”
