Karl Strauss Curates Local Beer, Art, & Music for an Event to Benefit the San Diego Food Bank
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) November 21, 2014 -- Karl Strauss Brewing Company is throwing a holiday version of their popular B.A.M.! [(B)eer, (A)rt & (M)usic] event series this Saturday, November 22 at their Tasting Room in Pacific Beach. Admission is free and features rare beers plus art from the comic book artists of IDW Publishing and live music by local favorites Dead Feather Moon – fresh off their win for Best Alternative Band at the San Diego Music Awards.
The event’s beer line-up is packed with small-batch brews, including the debut of Karl’s holiday beer release, a Scotch on Scotch Ale. “We’re stoked for people to taste Five Wee Heavy Bells,” says Karl Strauss Brewmaster, Paul Segura. “It’s a traditional Scotch Ale that we aged on Scotch-soaked American Oak chips. This beer is big, complex, and definitely a winter warmer.”
In addition to the Scotch on Scotch ale, Karl Strauss is tapping an impressive line-up of other small batch beers including: Grapefruit Blackball Belgian IPA, Dead Albert's Society (a Red IPA brewed in collaboration with Monkey Paw Brewing), Barrel-Aged Tripel, Peach Saison, Queen of Tarts Dark Sour and Wreck Alley Imperial Stout with Mostra Coffee.
For this B.A.M.! Karl Strauss is partnering with the San Diego Food Bank and incorporating a food drive. “Our B.A.M.! events were created to give back and support our local community,” says Matt Rattner, President, Karl Strauss Brewing Company. “What better way to continue in this spirit – especially around the holidays – than by partnering with the San Diego Food Bank?” Guests are encouraged to bring 2 or more canned food items to help out those in need. “Give a little, get a little,” hints Rattner. “We have an awesome beer related perk for those who bring in food items.”
