Kars4Kids Reports Large Amounts Of Car Donations Before New Year's
Lakewood, NJ (PRWEB) December 30, 2013 -- With 2013 only hours from being over for good, national car donation charity Kars4Kids is reporting a huge rush of donations. The last minute donations are pouring in as donors hurry to qualify for a 2013 tax deduction.
Charities traditionally see an increase in donations this time of year but Kars4Kids says this year is even more active than usual. "We have been receiving 5-10 times the usual donations," says Kars4Kids spokesman Steven Weldler, "There is a significant increase in donations over the end of 2012 as well."
This is even more significant considering that many car donation charities saw a big influx of cars damaged during hurricane Sandy. Those cars were donated primarily during November and December of 2012.
While reasons for the gains remain unclear, the recovering economy may well play a role. Many are finding themselves in a better financial situation this year than last and they may be in a better position to donate.
Last week, Kars4Kids announced that they were extending customer service hours too accommodate the last minute rush. "We couldn't be prouder of our dedicated customer service team," says Weldler. "They are going above and beyond to make sure we accept every last donation."
