Kast Concrete Knobs Launches 2015 Collection
Delta, Colorado (PRWEB) July 29, 2015 -- This week marks the launch of the new Kast Concrete Knobs collection -- handcrafted concrete cabinet and furniture hardware inspired by mid-century modern, Danish, and geometric design. This newest series boasts a variety of styles and can be found at various retailers from New England to California.
Kast Concrete Knobs was founded in 2012 with only four styles. With distinctive new designs being created every year and 10 new designs added this year, one of the 33 unique knobs in the 2015 Kast collection will complement any space and taste.
Kast Concrete Knobs began with a simple concept: offer consumers an eco-friendly, design-conscious alternative to generic mass-market hardware. Founder and owner Grey Hensey explains, “When I worked in mass-market manufacturing, I recognized how short the lifespan of consumer products could be, while at the same time, I began to see a revival of bespoke furniture. I decided I wanted to create products that people would cherish, that could last a lifetime and still have minimal environmental impact throughout its lifecycle.”
Grey uses both traditional manufacturing and innovative prototyping to achieve Kast’s original crafting method. Each concrete knob is designed and “hand-kast” on Colorado’s western slope using recycled materials and a water-based sealer. “I love taking advantage of new technology to reinvent old techniques. I never would have guessed that concrete knobs would provide that opportunity,” says Grey.
The 2015 Kast Concrete Knobs collection serves as the pilot for using a modern material in an age-old industry. As concrete becomes increasingly popular in home décor, Kast Concrete Knobs certainly adds its unique touch.
