The “PRISMATIC” world tour will be the third headlining tour of her career and after covering more than 210 dates in the first two, has a lot to live up to this time around. The opening acts Perry has brought on for “PRISMATIC” have to be considered interesting choices. Capital Cities formed their group in 2008 after Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian met through a Craigslist ad. They are best known for their single, “Safe and Sound,” which has catapulted their career. In the case of the country singer, Musgraves, Perry is throwing out any idea that pop tours need to contain just pop music. Musgraves is one of the rising stars in country music and was nominated for four Grammy Awards including two nods for “Best Country Song.” Tegan and Sara are identical twin sisters Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Keirsten Quin. At 15, the sisters decided to form their own group and haven’t looked back since.
The North American portion of Perry’s “PRISMATIC” world tour will kick off at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina and is set to conclude at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. In between, Perry and company will travel to some of the most popular venues in the world including the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York City; MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada; Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
Presales for Katy's latest tour go on sale January 23rd and with a good amount of time between now and the start of the tour, tickets for her shows will likely sell out quickly.
