One of the top superstars in the music business recently announced the 46 cities she will be heading to across the United States and Canada. Katy Perry, the pop princess that broke out in 2008 with "I Kissed a Girl," has seen her career grow with the release of every single and has seen each single become as popular as the previous one. Aside from her music, her fans also love and appreciate the show Perry puts on when putting on a concert and the "PRISMATIC" world tour will be the third headlining tour in her career, allowing fans to watch her sing all their favorite songs.
The "PRISMATIC" world tour will begin in Raleigh, N.C. on June 22 and will run through Oct. 10 when she travels to Houston, Texas. In between, Perry will travel to many off the most popular venues on the continent including the Barclays Center, Madison Square Garden, Staples Center, Verizon Center, Pepsi Center, TD Garden, Rexall Place, United Center and Quicken Loans Arena. Joining Perry on these dates will be one of three different opening acts, Kacey Musgraves, Capital Cities and Tegan and Sara, all of whom will give fans something different than what they will get with Perry
Each opening act will get the crowd amped and ready for the pop superstar in their own way. In the case of Musgraves, she will give fans a great country sound, mixed with some of the best lyrics written in the past decade, as well as her skilled guitar playing. While many might think the combination of pop and country music is strange, it shows that the performers understand that music is music and great lyrics are great, regardless of the style. In country music, there are three women that are known as the top acts, but Musgraves has a chance to break through that wall and this tour will be a perfect chance to win over new fans.
Capital Cities is a talented group in their own right. Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian formed their group in 2008 and are best known for their single, "Safe and Sound." It was originally released in 2011, but didn’t become a mainstream hit until last year. That helped increase the sales of their debut release, In a Tidal Wave of Mystery. Tegan and Sara, or Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Keirsten Quin, are identical twin sisters from Canada that have toured the world with the best. They have performed with fun., Weezer, Cake, The Killers and many other popular acts.
Regardless of which act will be opening for Perry, fans will surely have a chance to listen to all of her top songs. Among the fan favorites that will likely be played on the "PRISMATIC" world tour include her latest No. 1 single, "Roar," as well as other songs like "Teenage Dream," "Firework," "Part of Me," and more.
