KCF Technologies SmartDiagnostics® is Finalist in $100,000 SGICC 2014 Shale Gas Innovation Contest
State College, PA (PRWEB) April 26, 2014 -- Of the more than 80 applicants that entered this year’s $100,000 Shale Gas Innovation Contest, KCF Technologies of State College, PA, has been chosen as one of 13 finalists. Four of those finalists will be winners, each receiving a check for $25,000, to be announced on Thursday, May 15, in Southpointe, PA.
KCF Technologies’ entry in the Innovation Contest Finals is its SmartDiagnostics® Vibration Monitoring System (VMS) ― a suite of powerful, easy-to-install and use software and rugged, reliable low-power wireless vibration sensors ideal for predictive maintenance in the demanding conditions faced each day at shale gas exploration and extraction sites across the Keystone State and beyond. KCF’s SmartDiagnostics® can be configured to the needs and layout of any site, enabling crew to monitor the state of the motors, pumps, and other equipment that is indispensable to shale gas operations, helping managers predict the need for maintenance and schedule it for maximum uptime and optimal production efficiency.
KCF Technologies and other finalists will make live presentations, and Matt Henderson from the Penn State University Marcellus Center for Outreach & Research (PSU MCOR) will provide a snapshot of the regional shale energy play and the current range of options for utilizing natural gas and liquefied natural gas.
The organizers of the contest, the Shale Gas Innovation & Commercialization Center, will hold the Finals Event from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. May 15 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Southpointe, PA. Attendees will hear from industry leaders Kemal Anbarci, Vice President & Managing Executive, Chevron Technology Ventures, Richard Hall, Global Marketing Director, GE Oil & Gas, and CEO Uday Turaga of oil and gas consulting firm ADI Analytics.
