KD Conservatory Announces New Box Office Records Being Set by Advisory Board Member Rick Jaffa, and His Wife Amanda
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- Just a massive weekend as Jurassic World continued its dominance, scoring $106.5 million becoming only the second movie ever to take in more than $100 million in its second weekend, and topping The Avengers previous second best weekend number ($103 million). Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitors' interest, which backfires horribly.
Jurassic World is now up to $402.8 million domestically, the third movie this year to cross $400 million along with Avengers: Age of Ultron, while Furious 7 hovers just above $350 million. Meanwhile, Jurassic World is also the fastest to ever cross the $400 million mark. If you were wondering, only one film last year managed to even cross $350 million domestically, American Sniper, and it made all but $873,667 of its $350.1 million in 2015 so while it's technically a 2014 release, it made pretty much all of its money in 2015.
