The day before Thanksgiving is the busiest travel day of the year, followed closely by the Sunday after. According to AAA Travel, approximately 46.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the Thanksgiving weekend – an increase of 4.2% since 2013. Nearly 90% of those travelers will travel by car and likely enjoy Thanksgiving gas, which is 43 cents per gallon lower than the average in 2013. “State Police said the speed limit on the Mass. Pike from the New York line to Interchange 7 in Ludlow had been reduced to 40 miles per hour.
