KegWorks Expands Homebrew Line with Cask Ale Equipment
Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) January 24, 2014 -- Over the last year, KegWorks has been slowly adding to their home brewing equipment line, which now includes over 200 products.
While they’ve dabbled in the past with some basic home brewing products, it wasn’t until recently that KegWorks plunged head first into the market. They began with equipment starter kits, eventually adding individual pieces of equipment, and now, they’ve added the means necessary for making cask-conditioned ale, or “real ale,” as its known in the UK.
Cask-conditioned ale is beer in its natural form, the way it was made before modern technologies changed the standard of how draft beer is kept and served. It’s brewed from only traditional ingredients and naturally carbonated in its serving vessel - the cask.
KegWorks now offers two of the most common casks - the stainless steel Firkin Cask, which holds 10.8 gallons, and the Pin Cask, which is also stainless steel, and half the size of the Firkin (5.4 gallons). KegWorks also carries all of the accoutrements necessary for tapping and serving cask ale.
In terms of the kind of beer one would cask condition, Justin Frost, KegWorks Draft Beer and Homebrew Category Manager, says, “It’s great for many different styles of ale - especially IPA's. Cask conditioning allows for the traditional feel of most English styles.”
Regarding the new products his company is offering, Frost said, “These will help people make the highest quality ale at home and become a part of the Real Ale Movement, which is going to be huge in the states. Real ale currently has 8.3% market share in the UK according to the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA)."
