KegWorks Now Offering Classes on Making Beer at Home
Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) June 06, 2014 -- Last night, KegWorks held their first Home Brewing Workshop in their Kenmore, NY. Retail Store. This debut class, Home Brewing 101: The Basics of Extract Brewing, is tailored for beginners.
KegWorks head brewer, Justin Frost, lead the class on Thursday from 7pm - 8:30pm inside their new Homebrew Kitchen. Moving forward, the classes will be offered every Thursday evening from 7pm - 8:30pm and every Saturday from 11am - 12:30pm.
Home Brewing 101 is the first class, and will be running through June, but KegWorks plans to add many more classes, including workshops on kegging homebrew, cask ale, and all-grain brews.
Each class is very intimate with a maximum of eight guests per session in order to ensure an accessible, hands-on environment for participants. The workshops are $10 to register, and once completed, each participant will receive a $10 KegWorks gift card and a pint glass.
No equipment is needed for the course, however, if attendees decide their interested, The KegWorks Store has all of the hardware (from complete starter kits to individual pieces of equipment) as well recipe packs and separate ingredients for more advanced brewers looking to concoct their own recipes.
“Building the beer community is a passion of ours, and of course the home brewing community is a big part of that," says Justin Frost, KegWorks Lead Brewing Instructor. “We strive to appeal to folks who have yet to brew their first beer to those who have been brewing for years. We plan on releasing brew of the month recipe kits so our customers can compare notes and interact more with one another. We also hope to bring in Professional brewers from the WNY area to collaborate on these kits. We'll see what happens, but there is a ton of opportunity to expand this program.”
