Keiser University Congratulates LPGA Pro Donna White on Receiving Nancy Lopez Golf Achievement Award
West Palm Beach, Florida (PRWEB) September 22, 2016 -- Keiser University is proud of Donna White for her recent honor of receiving the 2016 Nancy Lopez Golf Achievement Award, which recognizes an LPGA professional who gives back to the game in the spirit of Nancy Lopez.
White began teaching at Keiser University’s College of Golf and Sport Management in 2010 after having a successful and well-respected career in the LPGA. She joined the LPGA Teaching & Club Professionals in 1997 and was the 23rd member to be inducted into their LPGA Hall of Fame. Throughout her career she has been committed to giving back to the community, which is evidenced by her involvement with Special Olympics, PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), USGA-LPGA Girls Golf, and many other organizations.
“Donna is an exceptional member of the team who continually exceeds expectations by going above and beyond with her students and in all of her charitable efforts throughout Palm Beach County and beyond,” stated Dr. Arthur Keiser, Chancellor and CEO. “Aside from her role at Keiser University Flagship campus, which serves as the home for the College of Golf and Sport Management, she is a co-founder of the Junior Golf Foundation of America where the mission is to provide affordable junior golf instruction and competitive opportunities.”
She was named one of the Top 50 Best Female Teachers by Golf Digest and Golf for Women Magazine, Bellsouth/SEC Women’s Entrepreneur Award in 2000, the Samaritan Award for community service in 1988, and the founder’s Cup award presented by Golf Digest for community efforts in 1987.
“It is a wonderful honor to receive this type of recognition for a career I am passionate about and thoroughly enjoy giving back to my students and others eager to learn about this sport,” stated Donna White. “My professional golf career began in 1977 and having the opportunity to share my years of experience and industry know-how with others has been incredibly fulfilling.”
The Nancy Lopez Golf Achievement Award was created in 2007 in order to focus on an LPGA member who possesses the qualities Nancy Lopez held dear and exhibited throughout her life: leadership, passion, giving, and approachability.
