Kelowna Film Society Helping Young People Learn the Basic Skills to Enter the Film Industry
(PRWEB) September 17, 2015 -- The Kelowna Film Society is offering the opportunity for 10 filmmakers to take the two day Motion Picture Orientation Course taking place at the Okanagan Film Fundamentals Symposium (OFF) for only $50.00, a $150.00 savings. Individuals living in the Okanagan, between Armstrong and Osoyoos, with a passion for film are asked to write a letter, maximum two pages, describing who they are, their career goals, and how this training will help them. Letters need to be emailed to camera(at)kelownafilm(dot)com by September 30, 2015 at 5:00pm. Winners will be selected on October 6, 2015.
OFF is an opportunity to bring all viewpoints of the film industry together to celebrate, learn and collaborate. The weekend will have 2 elements. The first element being the Motion Picture Industry Orientation Course, which will be held twice throughout the weekend, which teaches all the foundations needed to be able to work safely on a film set. The second aspect of the weekend is a symposium, which will include sessions on financing, script writing, entertainment law, budgeting, and pitching.
