About the Kevin Workman Foundation:
The Foundation was created by a group of friends who wanted to carry on the legacy of their friend Kevin Workman, an innovator in every possible sense of the word, friend to everyone he met, a raconteur, and a lover of the arts. Kevin passed away in 2011, but his joie de vivre lives on in his foundation. A San Diego native, dedicated geek and patent holding engineer, spent much of his professional career at Qualcomm, where he used his immense talent and technological know-how to develop and innovate products. In his free time, he threw legendary Comic-Con® theme parties (Brotherhood, X-Sanguin) that brought people of all interests, beliefs, and walks of life together, and he built communities that lasted. He welcomed anyone and everyone as they were, and encouraged them to be their best, most interesting, most creative versions of themselves. The Kevin Workman Foundation hopes to bring his love for art, science, learning and discovery to as many people as possible. The KWF is a Category A25 (Arts Education) 501(c)3 nonprofit based in San Diego.
