Key Organizations in Montana to Hold One-Stop Resource Fair and Stand Down for All Military
Helena, MT (PRWEB) July 29, 2015 -- Key organizations in Montana have teamed up to hold their first Military Resource Fair and Veteran Stand Down on Saturday, August 8th from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Gateway Center located at 1710 National Avenue in Helena, Montana. This event will feature over forty community resource booths and a financial and legal clinic. This one-day event is free and open to all area Service members, Families and Veterans. The clinic begins at 1:00 p.m. Attendees must provide proof of military connection (Military ID, Veteran ID, or DD-214).
“We recognize that a large number of Service Members, Veterans and their Families reside in the Helena area. Some of these men and women are in serious need of housing, medical care and employment. Through networking, we have identified many agencies, organizations and individuals in the area that are willing to support. At times, these community programs and services simply need help finding and connecting to these Service members and Veterans. The Military Resource Fair and Veteran Stand Down is our best chance to bring together our Service Members, Veterans and their Families with our local community resources. If you are currently serving or have served and are in need of help, please join us at the Gateway Center on August 8th,” said Steve Garrison, Veteran and Joining Community Forces Committee Member.
During the event, attendees can enjoy a free lunch provided by the Elks and will have the opportunity to receive Military surplus giveaways. Additionally, free minor medical support will be available. “The goal of this event is to connect our Service members with community resources so that together we can combat the unique challenges faced by our Military. We hope that these men and women make authentic connections and take full advantage of the materials and resources,” said Sheila Warner, State Community Support Coordinator of Army OneSource.
The Military Resource Fair and Veteran Stand Down is made possible by Army OneSource, Carroll College, VA Montana and Montana Joining Community Forces.
