Kickstarter Sensation “Time-In ToolKit” Helps Parents and Kids Navigate Big Feelings
ST. LOUIS (PRWEB) April 03, 2018 -- “Not all of us were taught that emotional intelligence is important or were provided the safe space to feel our feelings,” writes teacher and mom, Juli Rush. Many parents struggle to navigate their children’s big feelings (think: raging temper tantrums) and find themselves feeling ashamed, frustrated, and angry.
Nationally recognized educator Suzanne Tucker, PT has spent a large part of her 25 year career teaching families about attachment and the power of connect in teaching children how to regulate their emotions and behaviors. Along the way, she noticed parents like Julie struggling to guide their children towards emotional intelligence at home. Tucker explains it this way: “It’s one thing to know how to regulate feelings. It’s another to actually be able to do it in the midst of everyday life when we or our children are feeling stressed out.” In 2017, Tucker used her expertise to create the Time-In ToolKit. It uses colorful, engaging and educational illustrations and games to teach children and adults how to name, express and regulate their emotions and behaviors.
Her purpose was simple, “I set out to create a set of tools that helped people slow down and connect in ways that matter. Something supportive to not only children, but adults as well."
When Tucker launched her Time-In ToolKit on Kickstarter, it met its fundraising goal in only 36 hours. In just three weeks, earnings outmatched the goal by a whopping 500%. Parents’ investment in the product spoke loud and clear: they were ready to ditch time-outs and were counting on the Time-in ToolKit to help. Since then, Tucker says Generation Mindful has shipped ToolKits to over eight thousand parents, educators and therapists in 35 countries and counting.
Families and schools around the world are reporting that it not only works -- it is transforming their lives.
Juli Rush counts herself among the transformed. Rush writes, “I have found these products to not only be beautiful, but also amazingly helpful. In the past year, our family lost a sister, had major job changes, transitioned our three-year-old into school and navigated some major life upheaval. The Time In Toolkit has helped bring language and healing as we navigate.”
