Kidoodle.TV® Expands Across Devices and Feature Sets, Making a Localized Product Available through Mobile Operators and Across Platforms
CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA (PRWEB) September 15, 2016 -- A Parent Media Co. Inc. (“APMC”) is expanding its distribution capacity, making it easier for consumers to access its subscription-video-on-demand (“SVOD”) service, Kidoodle.TV, as well as for content providers to access new and growing global markets and Operators of multi-service environments to deliver a relevant, easy-to-access children’s offering through Operators’ mobile billing environments.
Over 1,000 Devices
To accommodate consumer demand for any-time, any-where access to programming across devices, APMC has made Kidoodle.TV available on over more than 1,000 devices. See here (http://bit.ly/2cpEVeF) for a complete list. Initially made available through the Apple App Store, Google Play and online (http://www.kidoodle.tv) across supported iOS and Android devices, Kidoodle.TV made the leap to Roku in spring 2016 and is now available in the Amazon online store, through streaming media players including Apple TV 4, Android TV, Chromecast and Nexus Player; smart TVs, such as Sharp, HiSense, Haier, Magnavox, Philips, and LG Smart TV; within the Opera TV catalogue on Sony, Swisscom, TCL and TiVo environments; and through Amazon Fire devices including Kindle Fire HD 8 (2015) and Fire Phone.
“Consumers are confronted with a growing list of choices when it comes to streaming options, and they increasingly must navigate their way through devices, consoles, set-top-boxes, IPTV offerings and smart TV options. We have actively designed and built the Kidoodle.TV service and the APMC media ecosystem to encourage consumers to access great programming across the devices and platforms they already use. For example, a single Kidoodle.TV account may be accessed across a massive number of environments, enabling consumers to enjoy a seamless experience and move between platforms in accordance with each platform’s unique environments. Today’s consumer expects ease-of-use, lifestyle compatibility and convenience, and we’re working hard to deliver that and more,” says APMC's Chief Technology Officer, Dan Riddell.
Localization with Multi-Languages and Integrated Billing
With many of the Kidoodle.TV-enabled platforms now available internationally through App Stores and other environments, APMC is localizing Kidoodle.TV in support of distribution arrangements to deliver a quality children’s service in customized settings, starting with the bilingual interface of Kidoodle.TV (in French and English) for Ooredoo Tunisia customers. Launched in summer 2016 in Tunisia in collaboration with Qatari-based Telecom provider, Ooredoo, Kidoodle.TV is downloadable and billable through authenticated Ooredoo mobile devices and web applications, allowing Ooredoo customers to purchase a Kidoodle.TV subscription using the method of billing they are already set up to use. Tunisian families may also access Kidoodle.TV as a bilingual service with choice of user interface available through Kidoodle.TV’s passcode-protected ‘Parents Room’ and a library of both French and English titles from acclaimed content providers, including such French titles as, ‘Mike the Knight’ and ‘Franklin and Friends’ from Nelvana International Limited.
This regional adaption is in addition to Kidoodle.TV library updates that include an initial selection of titles in Spanish and French for the enjoyment of Kidoodle.TV subscribers.
According to APMC President, Michael Lowe, “We are conscious of the desire of families to access diverse and curated content through their most convenient devices matched to their lifestyles, learning needs, language preferences, and aspirations. This means removing barriers to access, finding consumers a library of unique and inspiring international hits and education-based titles that they might not have found on their own, and bringing in titles, features, and user interfaces that are available in the local language.” He adds, “The French-English user interface option in Tunisia and choice of titles is a nod to the localization needs of the international Telecoms and Operators that we are working with. We continue to work with Operators to localize in other regions.”
Operators globally are looking for ways to seek additional revenue per user as decoupling of revenue from data is rapidly increasing. APMC’s systems grade, integrable family media platform is quickly being recognized as a turnkey solution to help Multiple Service Operators generate OTT revenue and quickly get to market without large capital expenditures.
Games Now Available
APMC also unveiled its first suite of games optimized for early learners, now available through Kidoodle.TV on iOS devices. Five games premised on practicing literacy and observation skills have been added to Kidoodle.TV’s feature set, making the Kidoodle.TV ecosystem a more interactive and diverse experience for families looking to find apps with additional functionality. Games include ‘ABC Tracing’, ‘123 Tracing’, ‘Fishing Frenzy’, ‘Crop Count’, and ‘Balloon Collecting’, all designed to get little fingers moving. Bright and fun with encouraging narration and sounds, this collection of games is built for intuitive, self-directed use. However, the games’ creators encourage parental engagement to share the experience with their kids.
“We believe that greater learning and family bonding can be achieved through shared experiences, even when those experiences are focused on technology use, learning or practicing new skill sets,” says APMC’s Chief Product Officer, Neil Gruninger. “To put time aside to watch and support a child navigating through game elements, assisting them with questions or tasks, shows them that you care. And to enjoy their successes together can mean the world to a child.”
With its technology integrated into the Kidoodle.TV SVOD ecosystem in support of device expansion, multi-language capabilities, games, new content and authenticated registration, APMC is looking to empower both operators and content providers with monetization opportunities and to provide consumers with opportunities for quality experience with little to no barriers for access.
