Kids First, Epp Concrete and Edward’s Stone Showcase Heavy Equipment for May Fundraiser Benefitting Muscular Dystrophy
Lincoln, Nebraska (PRWEB) April 18, 2015 -- Lincoln based foundation repair company, Epp Concrete Construction Inc. is excited to participate in a local fundraiser through Kids First Inc. on May 17, 2015 at First Covenant Church.
The fundraiser is set up to honor and raise funds to find a cure through Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy and specifically the Whisler family, who’s son, Hunter suffers from the muscle disease, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD).
“We are honored and humbled to be able to help out with an event like this. All of us at Epp Concrete hope and pray for the future and well-being of Hunter,” said Epp Concrete co-owner Dave Epp.
First Covenant Church at 6024 L Street will host the event from 4:00-7:00 pm. Activities are based on Hunter’s passions as a toddler for construction equipment. Activities will include displays of over 15 real construction trucks and equipment and how they work, arts and crafts, meet-up with local heroes, bounce house, Lego building and digging with trucks in the sand. Donations are welcome and tickets may be purchased at the event for $5 per person or $20 per family.
Hunter Whisler was born in September 2013. His parents, Randy and Natalie Whisler became concerned when Hunter failed to reach certain milestones for his age. Several doctors and many tests later, Hunter was diagnosed with PPMD. There is no cure for PPMD and all funds will go to the Whisler family’s medical expenses, travel expenses and research to find a cure for the disease.
