Kids Wish Network Congratulates Guardian Angel Miranda Lambert on ACM Wins
(PRWEB) April 09, 2014 -- As Miranda Lambert’s name was announced as the winner of multiple categories at Sunday’s Academy of Country Music Awards, Wish Kid Lindsey was jumping for joy in her seat. Lindsey Glotfelty, of Frostburg, MD, still can’t believe that she was able to meet her all-time favorite country star thanks to Florida-based children’s charity Kids Wish Network.
Lindsey was born with a blood clot on her spine that has paralyzed her for life. Completely reliant on a wheelchair for mobility, Lindsey has endured over 20 surgeries in her short life including having steel rods inserted, removed and then reinserted into her spine. She also suffers from scoliosis, a curvature of the spine, for which she has undergone a separate five surgeries.
Despite her condition, one thing that continues to inspire Lindsey is country music, especially Miranda Lambert. Lindsey loves listening to and sing along with the star’s music when she’s having trouble coping with her life-threatening condition.
Getting to meet Miranda Lambert was a dream come true for Lindsey. The teen journeyed to the CMA Music Festival to meet her idol and pose for memorable photos.
“I had so much fun,” Lindsey recalls. “I was sad to leave because everything was just great.”
Kids Wish Network and Wish Kid Lindsey congratulate Miranda Lambert on her recent award wins, and thank her for becoming a Kids Wish Network Guardian Angel by granting Lindsey’s wish.
Lambert won Female Vocalist of the Year, Single Record of the Year, and Vocal Event of the Year for her duet with Keith Urban.
