Observance was established in 2017 to draw attention to the critical role that proper load securement plays in commercial shipping.

The secondary objective of International Cargo Securement Awareness Month is to help the industry prepare for The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) International Roadcheck, which takes place June 4–6, 2019 in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The event is the largest targeted enforcement program on commercial motor vehicles in the world. Authorities reported issuing 2,080 out-of-service (OOS) cargo securement citations for violations during Roadcheck 2018 and 2,938 citations during Roadcheck 2017.

As part of its ongoing efforts to support cargo securement safety across the entire commercial vehicle industry, Kinedyne is again undertaking an awareness campaign and event sponsorship. The third annual International Cargo Securement Awareness Month is the logical extension of the ongoing training and support that Kinedyne has been delivering for over half a century.

Kinedyne is offering a free Cargo Securement Regulation Training Webinar from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. EDT on May 28, 2019. The webinar, titled "A Survivor's Guide for Cargo Securement Inspections During International Roadcheck 2019," will follow Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.

The goal of the webinar is to reduce infractions during the CVSA International Roadcheck enforcement event, and it offers a comprehensive instructional presentation that will arm attendees with an in-depth understanding of FMCSA regulations and how these will impact International Roadcheck conformity. Kinedyne will also touch on content dealing exclusively with the Canadian market and with regulations set forth by the country's National Safety Code Standard 10 – Cargo Securement (NSC10).

Through its exclusive Cargo Securement Regulation Training Program, Kinedyne has trained scores of industry professionals over the years. The free training course is offered to qualified trailer OEMs, dealerships, fleets and owner-operators as a public safety contribution to the industry.
