Kinetico San Antonio Helps Provide Clean Drinking Water to Children's Village in Uganda
San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -- A group of children in Uganda is able to take showers for the first time in their lives, thanks to a group of volunteers from St. John Lutheran Church of Boerne, Texas and Uganda Tree of Life Ministries.
The volunteers worked on two major projects for the Bulabandi Children’s Village. The biggest project was the installation of a solar-powered water well with an above-ground water retention tank. This will provide gravity-fed running water to the village, allowing the children to experience a shower for the first time ever. In addition, the volunteers installed a UV water purification system to provide clean drinking water for the village and surrounding community.
“It’s just a true blessing to be able to carry out a mission like this,” said Chris Knippa, one of the volunteers and the owner of Kinetico San Antonio. “Seeing the looks of joy on these kids’ faces after we were finished is something I’ll never forget.”
The mission trip ran from July 1-15. Uganda Tree of Life plans to return to Uganda for two more missions later this year—one in September and again in October.
