Kinky Boots Touring Shows Bring the Award Winning Musical from Broadway in New York to 23 Cities in 2014 and 2015
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 23, 2014 -- As Kinky Boots Broadway continues their strong run with a many awards and sold out performances, the musical plans to start a national tour. The initial touring schedule includes 23 cities in the United States.
Kinky Boots with music by Cyndi Lauper led all Broadway shows this year with 6 Tony awards including one herself for best original score. The strong choreography by Jerry Mitchell earned him the Tony for dancing in Kinky Boots and separately a nomination for his directing. Not to be left out, Harvey Fierstein, the final member of the Kinky Boots creative trio, earned a nomination for best book. In addition to the Tony award for the best 2013 musical Kinky Boots had already been named the best musical by winning the Outer Critics Circle Award, Drama League Award and Audience Choice Award. Other major Kinky Boots Tony Awards included Billy Porter as best actor and best orchestrations by Stephen Oremus beating Motown On Broadway among others.
