Kirin Gay Plays With The Occidental Drumline at the 29th Annual Los Angeles County Science Olympiad
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 24, 2015 -- Kirin Gay, a sophomore geology major at Occidental College, will be playing with the Occidental College Drumline at this year's 29th Annual Los Angeles County Science Olympiad Tournament. The Science Olympiad Tournament is an event that celebrates the scientific promise and achievement of K-12 students across Los Angeles. The Science Olympiad tournaments are rigorous, academic, interscholastic competitions that are drawn from the various disciplines of biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, computers and technology.
Kirin Gay, who has played with the Occidental Drumline at many sporting and charity events, is particularly excited about this year's Science Olympiad. “It was a lot of fun seeing what the kids brought to the tournament last year - it’s great that we have a chance to help out again this time,” says Kirin Gay. She is confident that the Occidental Drumline, better known as the 'Oxy Drumline!' will add a rhythmic flair to the event and amplify the energy and spirit of the participants.
Occidental College's Drumline can be found playing at various sporting and charity events, as well as performing shows at the school’s academic quad. Highlights for this year have included the homecoming game against The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags and the Up ‘Till Dawn charity event, where students raised money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
