Knowledge Delivery Systems and Michigan Virtual University Team Up to Provide State-of-the-Art Courses to Michigan Educators
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 13, 2015 -- Knowledge Delivery Systems (KDS), a leading provider of strategic and blended professional learning solutions for states and school districts, has announced today that it is partnering with Michigan Virtual University® (MVU®), parent company of one of the country’s largest virtual schools serving Michigan’s K-12 education community, to re-launch courses from the KDS catalog in Michigan LearnPort’s® online learning management system.
Michigan LearnPort will be offering 60 courses (and counting) from the KDS catalog to educators across Michigan that will cover courses on preparing students for college and career, addressing the needs of diverse learners, meeting the needs of new teachers and school leadership, blended learning and data-driven decision-making. New courses include, “The Flipped Classroom: Personalizing Learning for Students Every Day”, created in partnership with FlippedClass.Com; “Shifting Instruction with the Five Core Practices”, created in partnership with Insight Education Group (IEG); and “Courageous Conversations about Race”, presented by Glenn Singleton.
The Michigan Department of Education will be approving the courses for State Continuing Education Clock Hours which count toward Michigan’s 150 SCECH requirement to renew or advance professional education certificates. The courses will be administered by Michigan LearnPort, and will vary from $199-279 per course.
Michigan LearnPort is the online learning solution for educators to access high-quality courses and resources which has a user base of more than 81,000 accounts. The web portal has been updated and now includes interfaces with enhanced features in addition to upgrades to the Meridian Global platform as well as the Moodle environment (Moodlerooms Joule 2).
