Kobie Marketing Pledges to Donate 28,000 Pounds of Food to the Saint Petersburg Free Clinic Food Bank
St. Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) November 21, 2014 -- Kobie Marketing is pleased to announce their annual food drive benefiting the Saint Petersburg Free Clinic (SPFC) Food Bank. The SPFC provides temporary assistance to those requiring help with basic needs such as food, shelter and medical care. The SPFC Food Bank is one of eight programs offered by the Free Clinic. They provide food to approximately 40,000 people each month, of which about 20% to 30% are homeless and the rest are working poor individuals and children. Kobie has supported the food bank since 2008.
“Giving back to the community is a long-standing value of Kobie, and we’re proud to help local organizations like the SPFC however we can,” said Michael Hemsey, President of Kobie Marketing. “It’s amazing to see what our employees can accomplish by collectively rallying around this cause. We’ve surpassed the food bank’s donation record by a single organization for the last two years and plan to beat the record again this year by donating 28,000 pounds of food.”
To reach their donation goal, Kobie employees split into several teams which compete to raise the most money or food through various fundraisers like bake sales and catered lunches. Now Kobie is enlisting the community’s help to raise awareness for the organization and surpass their goal.
The public is invited to Kobie’s “Stomp Out Starving” fundraiser, a free event at Ferg’s Sports Bar and Grill featuring a silent auction, carnival booths, and live entertainment. Details for the event are as follows:
When: Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Where: Ferg’s Sports Bar and Grill, 1320 Central Avenue St. Petersburg, FL 33705
Live Entertainment: Fowler’s Bluff, a local band known for their “Sunshine State” inspired music, will entertain guests.
Carnival Booths: For a small donation, guests over the age of 21 can play one of 7 “carnival style” games.
Silent Auction: Attendees are invited to bid on items including a round of golf with Channel 10 news anchor Reginald Roundtree, autographed Tampa Bay Buccaneers memorabilia, Tampa Bay Rays tickets, and local restaurant and spa gift certificates. The auction will also feature handcrafted items created by Kobie employees like a custom made wood bench and an original sketched portrait.
Raffle: Tickets can be purchased for a 50/50 cash raffle where half of the cash raised will go to a single winner.
Cost: The event is free to attend. Guests are encouraged to bring cans or boxed food donations. Cash or credit card donations will also be accepted. All attendees will receive buy one, get one drink coupons.
