Koga in the Park Returns to Big Al’s Family Fitness
Amityville, NY (PRWEB) July 29, 2013 -- Big Al’s Family Fitness is pleased to announce they are bringing back Koga in the Park.
Koga combines the elements of yoga and kickboxing resulting in greater flexibility, increased muscle toning and shaping, refined balance, improved cardiovascular function, increased lung capacity and a decrease in overall body fat.
Part of the success of the Koga workout involves muscle confusion. Muscle confusion is a training principle that does not allow the body to accommodate an exercise to the point where that exercise is ineffective. Muscle confusion integrates variety into workouts and Koga exercises rarely, if ever, implement the same workout class twice in a row. The challenges of Koga are designed to build superior strength and endurance and are intended to help people of all fitness levels.
Balancing strength with yoga has resulted in a workout that is used by pro athletes, celebrities and the general public all over the world. A blend of isometric and polymeric movements, these exercises target both the upper and lower body, including the core. Both yoga and kickboxing involve a great deal of concentration, flexibility and a full-body approach to wellness. These exercises are both great for relieving stress as well. Elements of yoga help kick boxers to relax and embrace tranquility where other elements help strengthen and stretch the arms and legs.
The classes will take place on Tuesday, July 30 at 9:30am & 6:30pm. Thursday, August 1 at 9:30am & 6pm. Tuesday, August 6 at 9:30am & 6:30pm and Thursday, August 8 at 9:30am & 6pm. All classes will be held at John J. Burns park is located at 4990 Merrick Road in Massapequa.
