Elizabeth, New Jersey (PRWEB) July 12, 2016 -- Kohesion, a young women’s clothing store, launches a fashion-forward new website to complement their physical retail locations at the Woodbridge Center Mall and the Mills at Jersey Gardens. The new site features even more of the same unique and trendy clothing that the stores provide. Before the launch of the site, Kohesion’s traffic previously came from their live stores and Instagram following. After realizing that clothing retailers without Ecommerce sites were failing left and right, Kohesion owner Bryan Ko decided he needed to develop an online presence if he wanted the business to prevail.
Launching a fully interactive Ecommerce website, however, required expertise beyond Ko’s capabilities. He sought out a partnership with SmartSites, a small web development team in New Jersey, to build and market the site.. Ko’s overall goal was to convey Kohesion’s motto: “Unity Through Clothing.” The SmartSites team used this as their main inspiration while developing the site.The first step in promoting Kohesion’s inclusive nature was to prominently feature a variety of looks and styles on the homepage. Additionally, SmartSites implemented a sizing chart and a user login function to further personalize user experience on the site.
It was also important that the new site had online exclusives that differed from the products sold in the stores. Although the brands are interconnected, the capabilities of an online store exceed that of the physical retail locations, and Ko wanted that to be properly communicated on the new website.
In order to build a totally custom and open-source site, SmartSites opted for the Magento 2 platform. This latest version of Magento, released in late January 2016, offers Kohesionclothing.com visitors the latest technology in the Ecommerce web space. Magento offers users the ability to make changes themselves, which was of utmost importance to Bryan Ko. Ko wanted to be sure that he could update the site frequently as more clothing and styles become available.
This has been a huge but exciting undertaking for the SmartSites team. Director of Business Development Matthew Prepis had a pivotal role in producing the website. Of the project, he said, “Bryan was very clear that he wanted to enter the Ecommerce space as a true competitor. We built him a site that works alongside his physical stores to really give him the edge he needs to succeed.”
Moving forward, the SmartSites team will also be running an ongoing online marketing campaign for Kohesion.
