KONGOS Joins Line Up At The Original Catalina Wine Mixer
(PRWEB) August 22, 2016 -- KONGOS have signed on to perform at the 2nd Annual Original Catalina Wine Mixer, confirmed by The Xceptional Music Company and Santa Catalina Island Company. The brothers KONGOS will amp up Catalina Island’s Descanso Beach Club with their multi-faceted sounds on the guitar, drums, keyboard and accordion as the Saturday, September 24 headliner.
KONGOS unique and irresistible sound first rocked the world with hit “Come With Me Now.” The song’s impossible-to-resist aural summons topped the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, and was their first charted single in the United States, now certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
“KONGOS classic rock elements and unique beats energize crowds in a spectacular way,” said Ray McKewon, president of The Xceptional Music Company. “The brothers bring an invigorating sound and charismatic performance to the stage, which they’ve done throughout Europe and South Africa to crowds of more than 65,000. They will rev up the crowd at the Original Catalina Wine Mixer and will help make this year’s even more powerful for attendees with their commanding sound.”
The Original Catalina Wine Mixer launched in 2015 to bring appreciation and excitement to the cult-classic, Step Brothers. The 2016 event takes place from September 23 – 25, 2016 at Descanso Beach Club, located just past the Catalina Casino, on Catalina Island. This year’s event has grown to a three-day music and entertainment extravaganza, featuring a special screening of the film and two nights of live entertainment by premier artists.
In addition to KONGOS, Welsh rock band The Joy Formidable, with hits like “Silent Treatment,” will also take the stage on Saturday. The Joy Formidable recently released their album Hitch, and has been making waves with their new song “The Last Thing on My Mind.” The Joy Formidable is currently touring the United States and Canada.
Sunday entertainment will be headlined by The Dan Band, featuring Dan Finnerty. The Dan Band is best known for their hilarious covers in Old School and The Hangover. Last year, nearly 1,800 individuals gathered at the Original Catalina Wine Mixer to see The Dan Band perform live on stage.
