Krasno, Krasno & Onwudinjo Partner Serves On PBI Panel On Workers’ Comp Mediation
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- Geoffrey W. Dlin, Esq., a partner with the Philadelphia-based law firm Krasno, Krasno & Onwudinjo, recently was selected to serve on a Pennsylvania Bar Institute panel discussion on the subject, “How to Handle a Workers’ Comp Mediation.”
Mr. Dlin, who served as a Workers’ Compensation judge in Pennsylvania for more than 15 years before returning to private practice, has decided thousands of contested workers' compensation cases and frequently teaches other lawyers, judges and private organizations about workers' compensation matters.
The panel discussion was part of a half-day seminar on Workers’ Comp mediations hosted by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI), the continuing legal education arm of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. PBI programs are taught by practicing lawyers, judges, and law professors who are widely recognized as the leading experts in their field, and who have proven their abilities as teachers, public speakers, and writers.
Mr. Dlin provided his unique perspective as a former Workers’ Comp judge on the complexities of Workers’ Comp mediations, tactics and strategies. He also offered an insider’s view from the claimant’s perspective – including the factors adjustors consider when determining the settlement value of a case and how the judge can help attorneys persuade the adjuster.
Mr. Dlin also contributed two chapters to the companion course manual: Professional Ethics in Mediation and The Claimant's Perspective on Preparing for Mediation.
A member of the first group of Pennsylvania lawyers certified by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Workers' Compensation Law Section as specialists in the practice of workers' compensation law, Mr. Dlin is the only lawyer in the Commonwealth with the distinction of being a former or current Workers’ Compensation judge and a certified specialist.
