Krystal Cancun Timeshare Highlights Top Reasons to Visit Cancun’s Underwater Museum

The Cancun Underwater Museum, or MUSA, has nearly 500 sculptures in three different galleries. These galleries are at depths ranging between 9 and 20 feet.

Ever-changing exhibits: One of the exhibits is called the “Silent Evolution.” While the first part of this exhibit are the underwater sculptures themselves, the second part is how those sculptures evolve over time: what nature does to the sculptures and how the coral will grow and a new reef will form. Krystal Cancun Timeshare says this means that if a person visits the museum once a year, it will look a different each time. Already some of the figures are covered with algae, and others have some new reef formations that distort their facial features into something more surreal
Ecofriendly: Jason deCaires Taylor, who was the lead sculptor for MUSA, took 18 months and 120 tons of concrete, sand, and gravel to create this environmentally friendly project. Taylor and five other prominent Mexican artists used pH-neutral marine concrete when creating their sculptures. Some corals were even planted both on and nearby the initial sculptures. Krystal Cancun Timeshare shares that any possible harmful chemicals on the statues were washed off before they were placed underwater. This was done to ensure no harm came to the water, animals or reef.
Thought provoking: Krystal Cancun Timeshare says that the statues of this collection show humans interacting with the environment around them in two different ways. First, they show how humans can live with nature and create a workable future between them both. Second, the exhibits show how humans have damaged nature and the coral reefs and, unfortunately, show no sympathy. DeCaires Taylor made statues ranging from a little girl looking up to the surface to six business men with their heads in the sand. The goal is to show how some humans actually see and embrace their surroundings while others pay no attention.
