KSQ Architects Purchases Historic Building in Downtown Tulsa for Renovation
Tulsa, OK (PRWEB) January 21, 2015 -- KSQ Architects has purchased the Gates Hardware building in downtown Tulsa and plans to restore the historic building in Tulsa located at 216 N. Elgin Avenue. KSQ Architects will move its 47 person staff from its current office in downtown Tulsa to the second story of the renovated building located across the street from the ONEOK Field ticket windows. The first floor of the building is 14,000 square-feet and has two tenant spaces, with one space reserved for McNellie's Group and Marshall Brewing Company’s sports concept brewpub.
“Our Oklahoma staff has been a part of downtown Tulsa for many years, and buying the Gates building is furthering our commitment to revitalization and the city as a whole,” said KSQ Principal and President David W. Short, AIA. “It’s already been an adventure to redesign this historic space, and every architect wants to design their own office from the inside out so this suits us well."
The 28,000 square-foot building sits on a rare 0.34 acre lot in the Greenwood Historic District. Ross Group Construction is the contractor for the project that will entail an overhaul of the concrete and masonry structure. The renovated building will have a more concise and upgraded parking area and the building will have an extensive glass front to take advantage of the ballpark views.
Design and construction has already begun and the project is scheduled for completion in the fall.
