La Jolla Festival of the Arts™ Announces Surf Culture Theme and Honorary Ambassadors for 2015
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 17, 2015 -- The 29th Annual La Jolla Festival of the Arts™ returns June 20 – 21 with a new look and Surf Culture theme, bringing guests the finest in art, cuisine, live entertainment, and fun for the whole family. LJFA will feature 200 prestigious local and national artists showcasing their work in painting, sculpture, photography, glass, jewelry, ceramics, wood, fiber and mixed media. Visit http://www.lajollaartfestival.org to get your tickets.
In addition to a whole new look and theme, La Jolla Festival of the Arts™ Surf Culture is proud to announce two local San Diego surf icons as honorary ambassadors of this year’s festival. Aaron Chang of Aaron Chang Fine Art Photography and Tim Bessell of Custom Surfboards by Tim Bessell have partnered with the festival to enhance the Surf Culture theme and to bring awareness to the mission of the festival.
For the past 28 years, this fine arts festival has brought the West’s most established and emerging artists to coastal San Diego, with proceeds benefiting sports and recreation programs for San Diegans with disabilities. As La Jolla’s first fine arts festival, LJFA has established a legacy of supporting local charities and organizations. One hundred percent of the net proceeds will be given to over 30 San Diego programs that empower locals and wounded warriors to live beyond their disability.
The festival has raised nearly $2 million in support of 30 adaptive sports programs through which over 40,000 people with disabilities have participated. Just last year, more than $157,000 was donated to these charities through funds raised at La Jolla Festival of the Arts.
