LAI International Celebrates Southwest Expansion with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
TEMPE, Ariz. (PRWEB) February 27, 2018 -- LAI International, Inc, a manufacturing solutions provider to the aerospace, military, energy and medical industries, recently celebrated their Southwest expansion with a ribbon cutting ceremony. On January 30, 2018, LAI Associates, Customers and Partners gathered to commemorate the new state-of-the-art 39,000 square-foot factory in Tempe, AZ.
LAI International, Inc. CEO and President PJ Gruetzmacher led the ceremony. Representatives from IHI Corporation (IHI) and IHI’s Customer, two LAI core Customers key in the company’s growth and need for an expanded factory, were on hand to join in the excitement. The IHI Corporation representative was honored to cut the ribbon and later tour the new factory floor.
“It’s a big day today, we’ve got a brand new building,” said Gruetzmacher. “As an organization [LAI with Customers], we can move mountains. I truly believe that.”
Once construction is complete, the new factory will house a next generation engine program for the commercial aerospace industry.
With the new factory and expanded machining will come new jobs. LAI has already hired 16 new Associates and is training them at the LAI Northeast facility in Maine. Theresa Bauer, Integrated Product Team Leader (IPT) for LAI, expects the company to hire more than 60 new Associates total, and from the local community whenever possible.
Following the new factory ceremony, LAI International hosted its annual charity golf tournament at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ. Associates, Customers and Suppliers teed up to support community service at the LAI International Charity Invitational. At the end of the day, LAI and the 36 golfers presented $20,000 total in donations to both the United Way and St. Mary’s Food Bank ($10,000 each) to help continue their work in the greater Phoenix area.
