Lake House at High Peaks Resort Introduces New Green Housekeeping Program to Support the Mirror Lake Watershed Association
Lake Placid, New York (PRWEB) July 30, 2014 -- Guests at the new Lake House at High Peaks Resort in Lake Placid can participate in the ultimate green hospitality program by opting out of daily housekeeping services. In addition to significant reduction in the use of chemicals and their disposal, guests will earn a $5 daily credit which can be applied at the Bar at Lake House, or in Dancing Bears Restaurant at High Peaks Resort. Alternatively, the guest credit may be donated to the Mirror Lake Watershed Association, which works to preserve the pristine beauty of Mirror Lake.

About Mirror Lake Watershed Association (MLWA): The MLWA was formed in 1997 by the LP/NE Water Management Committee to focus on water quality in the Mirror Lake watershed. The Association’s first action was to join the NYS Federation of Lakes Association (FOLA) and begin volunteer water sampling under a program administered by the NYS DEC. Through volunteer efforts and fundraising, the MLWA has worked to educate leaders and the public about maintaining the water quality of Mirror Lake, and the continuous measures that can be taken to ensure enjoyable and safe waters. The Mirror Lake Watershed Association incorporated in 2008 as an independent entity with a Board of Directors and three officers.
