Larson Electronics Introduces a Portable Explosion Proof LED Work Light With an Inline Transformer
Kemp, Texas (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- The EPL-PM-150LED-X24I-100 Explosion Proof LED Light with encapsulated inline transformer from Larson Electronics is Class 1 Division 1 & 2 and Class 2 Division 1 & 2 rated. This portable LED light is mounted within an A-frame portable stand constructed from non-sparking aluminum and powder coated for increased durability and corrosion resistance. This LED work light produces a brilliant flood pattern of light that is ideal for illuminating enclosed areas and hazardous locations where flammable vapors, gases and dusts may be present.
This explosion proof LED light fixture is comprised of a 16-inch wide by 14-inch tall rectangle light head mounted within a pedestal base stand with a convenient carrying handle built into the top of the stand. The LED lamp produces 12,000 lumens with a color temperature of 6000K and a color rendering index of 70, which produces colors and details much more accurately than high pressure sodium or mercury vapor lamps. The lamp can be easily adjusted up or down 90° and locked into position by simply loosening the two hand screws located on either side of the light head and tightening them once the desired angle is found.
The EPL-PM-150LED-X24I-100 is multi-voltage capable and configured to operate on 120-277 volts with an inline transformer. The encapsulated AC to DC transformer steps 120-277V AC down to 24V DC. This transformer has 100 feet of oil and chemical resistant SOOW cable on the output side that connects the LED light to the step down transformer, and 6 feet of SOOW cable on the input side terminated in an industrial 5-15 plug. The inline transformer must be plugged in outside of the hazardous location. This portable work light is extremely rugged and ideal for use in classified environments where portable Class 1 Division 1 lighting is required.
“This explosion proof work light is the LED alternative to a 400 watt metal halide," Rob Bresnahan with Larsonelectroncis.com said. “While maintaining the light output of a metal halide, this LED light will not produce as much heat and it also uses less power to operate.”
