Las Vegas Auto Accident Attorney at Aaron & Paternoster, LTD Comments on List of ‘Best Drivers’ in America
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 25, 2013 -- Commenting on a “best drivers” report, Las Vegas auto accident attorney Matthew E. Aaron today said motorists in Las Vegas need to understand their responsibilities and avoid dangerous behind-the-wheel behavior.
Drivers in Las Vegas were more likely to get into an accident than the national average for drivers, according to Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report, which was reported by the Las Vegas Sun. “The report shows that Las Vegas drivers are 15.2 percent more likely to be involved in an accident relative to the national average,” said Aaron, whose firm represents victims of negligence and families who lost loved ones in accidents. “As personal injury lawyers in Las Vegas, we know that accidents happen quickly and far too often. We also know that accidents can be avoided if people avoid dangerous driving behavior such as texting, driving aggressively, speeding or getting behind the wheel after having too much to drink.”
Aaron said he hopes the report will lead to education campaigns, which can ultimately save lives and reduce the risk of serious injuries.
According to the Allstate report, a Las Vegas driver can expect to get into an accident once every 8.7 years. By comparison, the national average is once every 10 years.
While there are many cities ahead of Las Vegas on the list, Las Vegas did move up 6 spots compared to 2012, when it was listed as the 136th safest city.
Drivers are safer in Henderson, Nevada, according to the report, which lists Henderson as being slightly better the national average in terms of accident risk. The city is the 59th safest out of 200. A driver in Henderson will be in an accident once every 10.1 years on average, the Allstate report states. Henderson also moved up 11 spots on the list. In 2012, it was the 70th safest city, the report states.
Aaron offered tips for drivers in Nevada and elsewhere to keep themselves and others safe. He said to turn off or keep the cellphone out of reach when driving; slow down and try to stay calm behind the wheel; understand the rules of the road; keep a safe distance between vehicles; and look out for pedestrians, especially children.
