Las Vegas Company Twilight Designs Takes Gold in National Landscape Lighting Award Competition
Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) April 17, 2017 -- Las Vegas based landscape lighting company Twilight Designs earned a 1st place award for "Best Outdoor Living Lighting Project." The award was given by the Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals' (AOLP) annual conference. The AOLP is an organization made up of landscape lighting professionals from all over the country who's mission is to promote and advance the landscape and architectural lighting industry.
"The members of the AOLP are some of the most talented landscape lighting designers in the country and we're really proud to be recognized by them with this award," says David Bilik, owner of Twilight Designs and recipient of two prior 1st place awards. The award winning project is located in the Alta Drive Historic District of Las Vegas, an area that was once on the edge of town and now uniquely has some of the largest most mature trees and landscaping in all of Las Vegas. The spacious and lush landscaping made this property the perfect canvas for an award winning lighting project. Spot lights are perched high in the numerous 70+ year old pine trees illuminating the plants and walkways below. The centerpiece of this project is a 50' long outdoor kitchen and bar that is highlighted by a color changing neon LED rope light that runs the length of the seating area. "I think of landscape lighting as an art form as lighting can evoke a completely different emotion than you would otherwise have in the same space without lighting," David says.
Twilight Designs did a complete overhaul of the existing landscape lighting system that at one time had over nearly 6,000 watts worth of conventional halogen light bulbs to illuminate the exterior landscaping. The renovated system contains over 140 fixtures but consumes less than 20% of power previously needed, a testament to the advancements in LED technology and the energy savings they can bring. In the last 5 years the landscape lighting industry has moved to nearly 100% LED products. In addition, many commercial and other projects that require high output fixtures can now be completed in low voltage. Low voltage lighting systems are often much more cost effective to install and maintain.
