Lasso Media Announces its Public Release of Lasso
Denver, CO (PRWEB) July 25, 2013 -- Today, Lasso Media is announcing its public release of Lasso, an all new mobile-first app that allows you to get all those photos from friends and family that you otherwise may never see. Lasso enables you and your friends to stay better connected by quickly requesting and sharing photos with a simple swipe of your finger. The Lasso application can be found at http://lasso.me or by searching "lasso" in Apple's App Store.
Co-founded by Alex Welch, who started Photobucket over 10 years ago, Lasso is a request-based sharing network predicated on a very simple idea: You have something that I want—and you may not know to share it until I ask. With so much content overtaking our phones, tablets, PCs, and social networks, it can be difficult to seek out and find the specific content of interest to you. Often times friends only share a small portion of the content they have because they're drowning in data overload themselves and don't always know exactly what you want. It is now easier than ever to stay connected by passing photos back and forth using Lasso.
"We have taken the traditional method of sharing and flipped it on its head. Rather than sifting through social networks or waiting for someone to share with you, simply make a request and the person having the content can quickly approve what is shared," said Alex Welch, CEO of Lasso. "So many photos are either never seen, or still shared via email and SMS. There has to be a better way and we have tried to remove all the barriers, while making it fun and beautiful!"
With its initial application, Lasso provides the following features:
• Quickly and privately send photos back and forth between one or many friends
• Request photos that you may not otherwise see
• Send a quick snap photo with the Lasso Camera
• Share photos to 3rd-party networks such as Facebook and Twitter, and backup photos you've received to Dropbox
• Get subtle hints when friends have taken new photos so that you know to request them
In addition, Lasso'd photos can be viewed on the web by sharing a link (Android and Mac OSX version is coming soon). Photos are just the beginning for Lasso, and the plan is to extend to other types of digital content utilizing its proprietary request-based sharing model.
