Dimensionally-Stable and Ready-to-Use Tooling Boards
LAST-A-FOAM® FR-4500 and FR-4700 are dimensionally stable, non-abrasive and can be machined with standard high-speed steel cutting tools, making it ideal for prototype machining, high-temp curing prepregs and vacuum forming, among others. Unlike its competitors, the boards are delivered to the customer fully-cured and ready-to-use. The FR-4700 high-temperature tooling board withstands peak temperatures up to 400° Fahrenheit (204° Celsius) and continuous-use temperatures up to 350° Fahrenheit (177° Celsius).
Fire, Smoke, Toxicity and Heat-Release Compliant Foam Core
The LAST-A-FOAM® FR-3800 FST polyurethane foam core satisfies fire, smoke and toxicity (FST) requirements and Ohio State University (OSU) heat release standards. It withstands process temperatures up to 310° Fahrenheit (154° Celsius), which provides a larger processing window to manufacture composite parts. Due to its unique formulation, physical properties and fire safety properties are retained when used in various applications such as thermoforming, pour-in-place molded parts, panel making and machining, making it an excellent alternative to PVC foam and honeycomb. It is available in custom sizes and thickness, and in a wide range of densities, from 3 to 40 pounds per cubic foot.
CNC Capabilities and Molded Parts Program
General Plastics will also feature its CNC, molding and parts fabrication capabilities at CAMX. The company’s high-capacity production facilities enable it to scale production from small runs to specialty parts, to ongoing, high-volume parts programs. Parts are machined in our CNC center and fabricated to customer specifications.
