Lathrop Engineering, a Paramit Company, Appoints Robert Lathrop as President
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) November 09, 2016 -- Lathrop Engineering, a Paramit company, that designs and develops medical device and life science instrumentation, today announced that Rob Lathrop has been named President.
As the former Vice President of Engineering at Lathrop, Rob brings over 20 years of experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, project management, and designing and developing complex scientific instrumentation. He has been instrumental in expanding the company’s client base, and his optimization of the product development process now enables Lathrop to complete even the most complex projects on timelines no one else can match. Rob’s leadership of design and engineering teams through many successful projects over the years has built strong working relationships with clients, as well as their continued repeat business.
Rob holds both a BSME and MSME from the University of Santa Clara, and has served on the University’s Mechanical Engineering Industry Advisory Board for the last 10 years. Finding it important to give back to young engineers coming up in the ranks, he also contributes his time, mentoring, and training as part of his activities on the board.
Joe Carter, BSME, has been appointed Vice President of Engineering and has over 25 years of experience in new technology and product development. In his previous role as Senior Program Manager at Lathrop, Joe regularly managed the company’s project teams through the development of many complex scientific products. Previous to joining Lathrop Engineering, Joe headed Carter Design and Engineering, his own product development consultancy, where he worked with clients such as Ciphergen Biosystems, LightSpeed Genomics, and Mission Medical. Prior to that he led the Mechanical Engineering group at LabCyte, and held senior mechanical engineering roles at Complete Genomics, Philips Medical Systems, and other companies throughout his career.
