Latin American Goodwill Tour Brings Hope and Help to Jalapa
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 28, 2015 -- In the mountains of Guatemala, the city of Jalapa welcomed the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Latin American Goodwill Tour for a month-long stay in their city. The regional governor cut the ribbon signaling the opening of the bright yellow pavilion, and trained volunteers stood ready to help with seminars, courses and one-on-one help.
By survey, the Volunteer Ministers found that what local residents want most was to help the children, so seminars and workshops were organized on topics to help parents, teachers and nonprofit groups to do just that. Courses were offered on chapters of The Scientology Handbook, the textbook of the Scientology Volunteer Minister. These covered such topics as how to raise happy, self-reliant children, how to help children gain the study skills they need to become competent at any subject, and how keep families together by resolving the factors that can destroy marriages.
Jalapa was the second part of the Tour’s two-stage visit to the country, which began in Guatemala City. Five Scientology Volunteer Ministers groups were established, with 30 Volunteer Ministers trained to continue to deliver the technology to the people of Guatemala after the Tour moves on to Costa Rica in the next phase of their travels through Central America.
Originally launched in 2004, thanks to the support of the International Association of Scientologists, Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tours are known for the unconditional help they bring to people everywhere.
About The Volunteer Ministers
The Volunteer Ministers program was created by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard in the mid-1970s with the mandate to help “on a volunteer basis by restoring purpose, truth and spiritual values to the lives of others.” Mr. Hubbard described the Volunteer Minister as a person who “does not shut his eyes to the pain, evil and injustice of existence.” Volunteer Ministers are trained to help others achieve relief from life’s travails and gain new personal strength as well.
