Nonprofit SAFFT (Supporting Adoption & Foster Families Together) provides services to protect children, rebuild families and empower caregivers in the foster/adoptive community. SAFFT was born in 2008 as a support group for foster parents who were facing burn-out and were seeking the support of others. It rapidly grew and evolved into the thriving, multi-faceted nonprofit organization it is today, with services which prevent abuse, heal families in crisis and support caregivers in the foster and adoption community. Believing that most children don’t want new families, they simply want their own families to be healthy, SAFFT also provides families in crisis with a safe, comfortable, neutral environment in which structured visitation can take place. Helping families to create better home environments through mentoring, relationship building and parenting classes, SAFFT has helped to reunify countless area families.
