Laurie Laird Joins Calo Preteens as Executive Director
Lake Ozark, MO (PRWEB) August 11, 2015 -- Laurie Laird, MA joined Calo Preteens as its first Executive Director. Mrs. Laird will have oversight of all aspects of design, development and strategy for the unique program. She is also responsible for the day-to-day operation of the center. Laird is joining Calo's Leadership team and will report to COO, Chris Perkins.

Laurie comes to Calo after two decades of experience in behavioral health and education. She has been a compassionate advocate for children and their learning needs working tirelessly to align curriculum and instruction to the unique learning styles of each student. She has also been a coveted lecturer at local, state and national levels on topics ranging from learning disabilities, trauma, executive functioning and social skill development.
"I am overjoyed to be part of Calo and am excited to bring my passion and experience to the preteen program", expressed Laird. "Helping children heal from developmental trauma through relationship-based treatment in a safe, nurturing and accepting environment is so poignant". And the canines are so much fun," reflected Laird.
Ms. Laird joins Calo after 15 years as the Academic Director at New Haven RTC in Utah and adjunct faculty at the University of Phoenix where she taught in the education and math departments. Laurie is special-education certified and specializes in learning styles, learning disabilities, behavior management, trauma, NLD, and negative mind processes.
Laurie is a graduate of Brigham Young University’s secondary education program and has a master’s degree in educational counseling from the University of Phoenix. She is also certified in Special Education. Laurie has four children and enjoys running, sewing, travel, and the outdoors. She lives on a farm in the country, complete with emus, four horses, chickens, and dogs.
