List, which focuses on criminal defense, is celebrating its second anniversary. “It means so much to be able to help clients and their families, because so often it is not only the defendant that is part of the representation, but their family is also deeply affected by their legal situation,” said J.P. List, a Boulder, CO, native, focused on criminal law and litigation in college, and taught criminal and Constitutional law in Washington, D.C. inner city schools. He worked with the Public Defender of Arlington County Virginia for one year, and has since dedicated his legal career to defending the rights of individuals.
“I am committed to working on the front lines to help prevent the erosion of our rights, and to defend the rights of my clients,” noted List. “I strongly believe that defending the rights of clients is much easier when they know their rights.”
List is also a member of the Colorado Collateral Relief Project, a group of attorneys that do pro bono work to help people seal criminal records of cases that have been dismissed. “The Collateral Relief Project also assists people who have had their case dismissed and want to move forward with their lives after having paid their dues,” concluded List.
In addition to practicing law, List, who taught law school in Istanbul for two years, is passionate about travel and new cultures. “I love to travel to new places, and I will try anything once,” concluded List. “I have been to four of seven continents and nearly every state in America.”
