LCBO Stores Raise Funds for The Arthritis Society
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) July 17, 2014 -- Beginning July 20, 2014, LCBO customers can support The Arthritis Society, Ontario Division by making a donation at any LCBO store. Donation boxes for The Arthritis Society will be displayed at LCBO checkout counters until August 16, 2014.
Funds raised from this limited-time program will directly support The Society’s mission of providing leadership and funding for research, advocacy and solutions to improve the quality of life for Canadians affected by arthritis.
“The LCBO’s province-wide donation box program offers a way for the public to help the nearly two million Ontarians, including children, through programs and services such as our chronic pain management workshops,” says Joanne Simons, executive director for The Arthritis Society, Ontario Division. “We are thrilled to collaborate with the LCBO on this initiative and we extend our sincere thanks to LCBO staff and customers.”

The Arthritis Society, Ontario Division, is one of 28 provincial and numerous local charities that will benefit from LCBO’s province-wide donation box program in 2014. In 2012, the LCBO raised a total of more than $6.6 million for charities through special programs and initiatives, of which $6.1 million was raised through in-store fundraising.
In addition, LCBO’s annual dividend transfer to the Ontario government, which totaled $1.7 billion in fiscal 2012-13, excluding taxes, supports a wide range of important government programs, services and priorities, including health care and education.
