Leadership Berks Graduation and Awards Ceremony Announced
Reading, PA (PRWEB) May 22, 2015 -- Alvernia University’s Leadership Berks program will celebrate the graduation of its Class of 2015 at a ceremony and awards luncheon, Thurs., June 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Peter M. Butera will receive the Leadership Berks Distinguished Alumni Award, and Freedom Auto Group will receive the Art of Leadership-Legacy Award during the event.
Leadership Berks is dedicated to developing, supporting, and connecting community leaders in Berks County. Its 2015 graduation and awards luncheon will begin with a reception and networking (11:30 a.m. to Noon) followed by a luncheon, graduation and awards program (Noon to 1:30 p.m.).
Earning the Distinguished Alumni Award will be Leadership Berks Class of 2014 graduate, Peter M. Butera, Senior Vice President-Wealth Management and Wealth Management Advisor for Merrill Lynch.
Butera joined Merrill Lynch more than 28 years ago. Today he concentrates on advising high-net-worth individuals, business owners and corporate executives. A member of the Butera Jordan Bender Group, he is dedicated to creating custom strategies to help clients achieve goals, including income management, investments, retirement planning, wealth transfer and estate planning services.
Since graduating from Leadership Berks, Butera has continued to serve by recruiting students and providing board or committee placement opportunities within organizations he serves. He has also remained actively engaged in serving the Olivet Boys and Girls Club as both a volunteer and a member of the club’s Board of Directors.
“Peter’s commitment to personal and professional excellence and his record of service to the community make him an ideal recipient for the Leadership Berks Distinguished Alumni Award,” said Toni Eckert, director of Leadership Berks and business outreach at Alvernia University.
The 2015 Art of Leadership-Legacy Award will be bestowed on the Freedom Auto Group. This award is presented to a business or nonprofit organization that has demonstrated significant contributions to the community, through charitable donations, event sponsorships, and employee participation in Leadership Berks and in volunteer service to the community. Recent recipients include VF Outlet, Herbein + Company, Inc., Reinsel Kuntz Lesher, LLP, EnerSys, UGI Utilities, Inc., and Carpenter Technology Corporation.
