Leading K-12 Social Media Platform Rolls Out Major New Features for Back to School
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 03, 2016 -- Edmodo, also known as the “Facebook for schools,” has over 65 million users in 370,000 schools around the world where teachers and learners experience classrooms without borders and without limitations.
Communication and resources are a core need for educators across the globe, and for this back-to-school season, Manish Kothari, Edmodo’s General Manager of Platform, explains that his company is “focusing on making communication, collaboration, resource sharing and discovery even simpler and more relevant at a local, regional and global level.”
The changes to the platform include Google integration where users with Google Accounts can create and login to their Edmodo Accounts with Google Credentials. Teachers and students can view Google Drive items directly from the Edmodo Library/Backpack and attach them to assignments and notes. Edmodo Topics allow teachers who are interested in a specific topic to easily and quickly communicate and/or collaborate (on that topic) with educators anywhere around the world. For students, Edmodo has introduced Play, which encourages them to answer high-quality questions in a self-guided environment. For administrators and district personnel, the platform has created Group Directories. For parents, they’ve introduced new ways to participate in their child’s progress at school.
Kothari believes social learning “will increasingly be a strong driver for outcomes.”
Edmodo’s global social learning platform comprises the largest network of students, teachers, and parents from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
