Learn to Sew a Wedding Dress-- Fashion studio in East Pasadena is offering a workshop for those would like to learn how to design a wedding dress
Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) June 20, 2014 -- The Koffa Design Group is hosting a 3-Saturday workshop for individuals who have an interest in learning about the process of constructing a wedding dress. This workshop will teach each participant the steps from pattern making to completion of the garment.
After the dress is completely designed and sewn, a lucky bride from a contest hosted by The Koffa Design Group will win the dress. The winner and all bridal participants will have shared their stories with The Koffa Design Group and the junior designers who worked on constructing the wedding dress.
Pasadena Designer, Fashion Professor, and Business Owner, Koffajuah Toeque-Slyusar M.A.Ed, hopes this workshop helps the participants learn how to construct eveningwear and special occasion fashion. The details, fabric, buttons, stones, and patterns will be provided as part of the workshop at no cost to the participants.
Instead of the workshop being set up as a basic lecture course, Professor Toeque-Slyusar decided to set the workshop up as a free event.
Are you curious about the dress? The dress can be seen in the company’s advertisement in the form of an illustration that advertises the event. It can also be seen as a post on the Koffa Design Group's Website and Facebook Page. It is a beautiful design created by Professor Toeque-Slyusar.
Workshop activities will provide:
- Information on how to cut patterns accurately when working with delicate fabrics
- Bridal sewing techniques: beading, ruffles, and corset decorating
- Garment finishing and closures for wedding and special occasion apparel
“Many people want to learn how to make something beautiful that they are proud of,” Professor Toeque-Slyusar said.
“This workshop will give them the opportunity to create something amazing. To see this wedding dress be worn by a deserving bride on her wedding day will be most rewarding for the students involved."
All participants in this class will receive portfolio images and video of the design process and professional images of the finished garment. An event to celebrate the student work and bridal winner will be announced.
Similar workshops are being developed and will be hosted by the Koffa Design Group. The workshops will be held three times per year with an array of topics and activities in Fashion and in Home Interior Decorating.
