Learning.com Announces Curriculum Foundry to Help Districts Manage Digital Content
Portland, OR (PRWEB) June 30, 2014 -- Learning.com, a leader in helping districts implement digital learning initiatives, announces the launch of Curriculum Foundry, a solution that helps districts use digital content to meet their instructional goals, facilitate personalized learning, and address budget challenges. Curriculum Foundry comes as a growing number of districts are undertaking the daunting task of sifting through an abundance of digital resources.
Curriculum Foundry provides a searchable content repository that includes vetted open education resources (OER), as well as a district’s existing digital content. Through this solution’s comprehensive set of tools, districts can build and share their own curriculum. Curriculum Foundry also features single sign-on, enabling students and teachers to easily use digital content.
“The transition from print resources to digital assets represents a challenge for all districts, so we created Curriculum Foundry to directly address the obstacles they face,” said Learning.com CEO, Keith Oelrich. “We recognized that districts curate content from a variety of sources, and even create their own curriculum. This new solution makes it easy for them to access, organize, and share digital content.”
The NMC Horizon Report > 2014 K-12 Edition Preview states that, “an increasing focus on open content” is a trend driving education technology adoption in schools. This emphasis on OER, combined with the accelerating transition to digital resources, is evidence of districts’ growing need for a solution like Curriculum Foundry, according to Oelrich.
Curriculum Foundry will be piloted in fall 2014, and will be ready for district implementation in January 2015. To learn more, visit the Learning.com tools page or stop by the Learning.com booth (#1426) in the ISTE exhibit hall.
